The date of some of the drawings goes back to February 1944. It is, however, not clear whether this device had been produced in early 1944. At a time when the first Berlin and FuMO81 apparatus came to their employment and trials. On one side of the solid main block some one has electrically put the following information onto it: R.H.F. Travem?nde Inv. Nr. 00278 (see photo). It is likely, that ? may have been a mistake owing to the technician who made the texting,  I believe that he meant ü as i is visible. Travemünde is most likely related to the German Navy Research Institute, such as NVK or that like.


I found this page inside this apparatus and it indicates the quality of S&H technology. Please consider a frequency deviation at 3200 MHz (3.2 GHz) of only 250 kHz!

The SIGESO exhibition might have been the great exhibition which took place at Earl's Court in spring 1946. Where most of Germany's advanced technologies were put on display (Which were "Trophies of War"). So that British industry could learn from it. I guess they did not, as in Britain generally there was a remarkable lack of appreciation of what came from abroad. This in contrast to the United States, where they have exploited much of German technology. To be fair, we must also consider that Britain was quite "war fatigue" and may have lacked the resources

Meter section being removed. This gives access to the diode holder and its spare diode (Reserve-Detektor) clamp. Just visible is the external meter or headphone connector, of which one connector pin is then deactivating the 100 µA moving coil meter


The rectangular darker middle section is the HF pick up slit. According information, the cavity resonator is operating in the so-called: H01 mode. The HF pick-up is only slightly influencing the calibration accuracy, as long as the mutual coupling is not too strong. Under operational condition this latter is not very much likely to happen

I suppose, that the one who once engraved this information has made this writing error with the ü. Travemünde was, to my knowledge, a German Naval Research Establishment (NVK?).
